In 1979 Nemo James was commissioned by EMI to write the theme music to a new series called “Great Railway Journeys of the World” which was expected to become a worldwide success. Six short demos were submitted to EMI who were delighted with them. They were eagerly accepted by the BBC but it was the director who had the final say. The director was a personal friend of the guitarist John Williams who at the time was playing in the band “Sky” and he decided to go with tracks from their album.

The day after the program was first broadcast, the headline in one of the national papers was “Sky really is the limit.” It went on to rave about the program but criticise the music.

This was the biggest disappointment in Nemo’s Career.
