About Nemo

Many years ago, Nemo James, singer songwriter and author, turned his back on a successful career as a London session guitarist in order to concentrate on songwriting. His extraordinary life experiences since then have led him to a unique style of acoustic-based music and to become an author. His first novel, A Single Tear, won first prize in the International, Independent Publishers Award for popular fiction.

Nemo lives in Croatia, where he continues to write and release two albums a year.

What better way to discover more about Nemo than reading the back cover from his highly acclaimed autobiography Just A Few Seconds

Just A Few Seconds - Front Cover Musicians have always been with us. From cave dwellers knocking out a tune on a blade of grass to Romans at the coliseum to buglers marching into battle. Although they have always been with us, we only ever hear about the rich and famous and their stories of decadence and overindulgence.

There is a common misconception that professional musicians spend half their time playing in seedy bars and the other half queuing up at soup kitchens, but for every famous musician, there are thousands working in the background making a good living with a wealth of interesting stories to tell.

Just a few seconds is the story of a musician with a career that has taken him from the roughest London pubs, to private parties for the Aga Khan and Sheik Yamani. From near starvation to a Jet Set life in Gstaad. From the brink of fame and fortune, to the Birdy Song. From market stall, to restaurant owner. From guitar teacher, to squash and karate teacher. It is an amusing and heartrending story of perseverance, showing how the road to success can lead us down the strangest of paths.
