2012 Costa Rica – San Jose
28th January 2010
We said a sad farewell to the coast and headed back to San Jose for another day before our flight to Miami. In the departure lounge, we met the famous dog trainer Cesar Millan, who was travelling with two dogs in first class with him.
We spent the day in town and visited the gold museum, which displayed all the jewellery excavated in Costa Rica over the last few hundred years. Many of the exhibits went back to 600 AD, and I assume were extremely valuable, as there was a huge bank vault kind of door we had to pass through to enter the room where they were kept.
Our two weeks in Costa Rica were amazing, with perfect weather for most of the time, clear skies, and temperatures around 30 degrees. The people were warm and friendly, and I am not surprised that pura vida (pure life) is a big thing there. I saw one man wearing a T-shirt with twenty faces on it, each one had the title of the face beneath it. There were sad, angry, sleepy, irritated, etc, but all the faces were the same; they were smiling.
